Workforce Development Fund (WDF) 2018/19 –New Deadlines for Submitting WDF Claims

Skills for Care have decided to extend the deadline for WDF claims in 2018/19 to allow more time for you to get the certificates to evidence qualifications completed in 2018/19.

The 2018/19 deadline has moved from 31 March 2019 and is now 31 May 2019 and certificates with a date of issue in April or May 2019 will be accepted as evidence.

This allows an additional 8 weeks for certificates for completed qualifications to be issued and for you to claim for any outstanding QCF qualifications.

Please note that Skills for Care have not changed the cut-off date for WDF Members Declaration Forms for 2018/19 and this deadline remains at 28 February 2019.

It is important that you continue to send us your claims for completed qualifications as soon as you receive the certificates to allow time for processing.  Please contact Jackie or Amanda if you need any help or support to claim – jsmith@spic.co.uk or aberey@spic.co.uk or phone us on 01743 860011.

Below are some of the key changes to claiming WDF in 2018/19

  • Qualifications on both the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF) and Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) can only be claimed for completed qualifications.
  • For all qualifications the evidence required to support claims will be a copy of the learner’s certificate and for QCF qualifications this will still need to include the full unit breakdown. Unit summary sheets will not be accepted as evidence by Skills for Care in 2018/19.
  • 2018/19 will be the final year for claiming QCF qualifications. This means that if the qualification is not completed, certificated and claimed in 2018/19, it will not be funded through the WDF.
  • The 60 credit limit will no longer apply in 2018/19 and will be replaced by a financial limit that allows the qualification with the highest funding value to be claimed for a learner within a single funding year.
  • Skills for Care will not fund all health and social care RQF qualifications so it is important to check the list of what will be funded before you commission any learning and development.  Click here

Amy, Jackie and Amanda are your WDF contacts at Shropshire Partners in Care and you can contact us on 01743 860011.

To be eligible to claim you need to have completed the NMDS-SC to 90% since the 1st April 2018.

To support you with the completion of the NMDS-SC please contact Peter Reilly on 01743860011, preilly@spic.co.uk
