One of the aims of the Shropshire County PCT Medicines Management Team is to support care providers in meeting the required standards set by the Care Quality Commission.

The role of the Care Homes Medicines Management Officer is not one of inspection.  The aim is:

  • To support and assist care providers in care homes and Domiciliary services in developing or updating   policies and procedures where necessary, in order to maintain good practice and safe systems.
  • To facilitate and strengthen the communication between all those involved in the management of medicines (including Residents, the Primary Care Medicines Management Team, Secondary Care, GPs Nurses and Pharmacists).
  • To provide advice on the safe management of medicines.

If you would like support with any of the above points or have any queries relating to the management of medicines, Ceri will be happy to visit you.  Please contact Ceri at the Shropshire County PCT Medicines Management Department on:
