To Proprietors / Managers of Nursing Homes in Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin

Dear Colleagues,

Shropshire Partners in Care agreed with Shropshire County PCT that a Task & Finish Group be set up to determine a cost model for the purchase of continuing care beds. The first meeting of the group was held at the end of April and we have given ourselves until September to complete the work which will then be taken to the PCT for formal approval by November. To ensure completeness Telford & Wrekin PCT is being invited to join the process.

This year we will be launching a good practice resource bank as a forum for sharing good practice across our sector. The resource bank will be available on the Shropshire Partners in Care website and it will be an opportunity for you to share good practice with colleagues and peers.

Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals Trust is applying for Foundation Trust status

You may be aware that the Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals Trust is applying for Foundation Trust status. This will give the Trust much greater autonomy and financial control over its own affairs. Perhaps more importantly it will keep decision making local.
