Dear Colleagues,

You may be aware that the Shrewsbury & Telford Hospitals Trust is applying for Foundation Trust status. This will give the Trust much greater autonomy and financial control over its own affairs. Perhaps more importantly it will keep decision making local.

SPIC has worked closely with the Trust in supporting its application and we have a place on the Foundation Trust Stakeholder Steering Group.

My purpose in writing to you today is to remind you that anyone who lives within the hospital’s catchment area can become a member of the Trust. There is no cost and your involvement can range from as little as receiving information to as great as becoming a public governor.

Shropshire Partners in Care recommends that members enroll as members of the Trust. The greater the number who become members the greater influence our sector can have on how our local hospital services are delivered.

If you would like to become a trust member join on line www.nhs-membership.co.uk/sath
