  • All learners must present evidence of a negative PCR or LFD test result taken within 72 hours before the start of the face to face course (evidence accepted includes: test result text message or email from the NHS, or NHS app record).

  • How to insert and secure urethral and supra pubic catheters
  • Managing urethral catheters
  • Managing supra pubic catheters
  • Identifying potential contraindication and complication with all the types of catheterisations and demonstrate problem solving skills
  • Review catheter care and education for patients
  • Use of the continence formulary
  • Medication and catheterisation
  • Awareness of automic dysreflexia
  • Procedure for taking a Catheter Specimen of Urine
  • Infection Prevention & Control relating to Catheters
