Moving & Handling 6 Day In House Trainers/Assessors

Who is the course aimed at?

This course is aimed at experienced/senior staff in adult social care settings wanting to train colleagues in Moving & Handling.

On completion of the training and to maintain your skills and knowledge you are required to attend 1 link meeting per year; if this standard is not met you should not continue to deliver training. 

 

COVID-19

Please ensure that all Learners attending training at our venue(s) are aware of the following:

  • All learners must present evidence of a negative PCR or LFD test result taken within 72 hours before the start of the face to face course (evidence accepted includes: test result text message or email from the NHS, or NHS app record).

  • The theory behind moving & handling techniques
  • The principles of effective teaching and learning
  • Competency and understanding of the latest recommended manoeuvres
  • Risk assessment writing skills
  • Each delegate will gain confidence in delivering effective moving and handling training and completing detailed risk assessments in the workplace

Due to the high risk of foot injury no learners wearing open toe shoes will be able to complete a moving and handling course

 

Post-Course Conditions

  • It is the responsibility of your employer to inform the insurance company you are covered to deliver this training
  • You must deliver training using the training pack provided by Shropshire Partners in Care and only train the workforce within your own organisation.
  • You must attend 1 link meeting a year to maintain knowledge and skills and should not continue to deliver training if this standard is not met.
  • You must complete a Train the Trainer Refresher course on or before the expiry date of your certificate and should not deliver training if your certificate has expired.
  • Shropshire Partners in Care have the right to request an observation, and give feedback on your training as part of quality assurance.
  • Shropshire Partners in Care have the right to withdraw permission for you to deliver Moving & Handling training using their resources if following an observation they have concerns about the training being delivered. Where appropriate a development plan will be agreed and you will need to demonstrate the required improvements in order to continue to receive support from Shropshire Partners in Care.
  • It is your responsibility to raise concerns with your manager and follow your organisations safeguarding and whistleblowing policy if a safeguarding incident is raised during training.
