Workforce Development Fund (WDF)

Background

WDF is funding from the Department of Health that is distributed by Skills for Care through a network of employer led partnerships across England. The Care Workforce Development Partnership (CWDP) which is part of Shropshire Partners in Care is the employer led partnership for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

Adult Social Care employers in England can access WDF towards the cost of staff completing adult health and social care qualifications e.g. Apprenticeships, Diplomas, Certificates, Awards and Learning Programmes

Friday 26 February is the Skills for Care deadline for new WDF Member Declaration Forms

If you are not currently a member of the Care Workforce Development Partnership and you intend to claim under the current WDF contract (for certificates dated 1 January 2020 through 31 May 2021) then you will need to submit a Member Declaration Form to us by Friday 26 February.  Please contact Amanda Berey if you would like a form to complete – aberey@spic.co.uk

Please prioritise sending your WDF claims for completed qualifications and learning programmes to Jackie and Amanda at Shropshire Partners in Care (SPiC) in the next few weeks.  You will need to attach the following evidence to your claim forms:

  • A copy of the Learner’s completed certificate which must be dated from 1 January 2020 onwards
  • A copy of the Learning Provider or Endorsed Provider invoice if you are claiming for course fees

All of the information and forms that you need to make a WDF claim can be found on the SPiC website

Please ensure that you are eligible to claim by updating your Adult Social Care Workforce Data Sets (ASC-WDS).  If you have any problems logging on to your ASC-WDS accounts or with updating,  please contact the Skills for Care Support Team by email at ascwds-support@skillsforcare.org.uk or call them on 0113 241 0969

If you need help with claiming WDF please contact Jackie at jsmith@spic.co.uk or Amanda at aberey@spic.co.uk
