Workforce Development Fund (WDF)

Background

WDF is funding from the Department of Health that is distributed by Skills for Care through a network of employer led partnerships across England. The Care Workforce Development Partnership (CWDP) which is part of Shropshire Partners in Care is the employer led partnership for Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin.

Adult Social Care employers in England can access WDF towards the cost of staff completing adult health and social care qualifications e.g., Apprenticeships, Diplomas, Certificates, Awards and Learning Programmes. 

Claiming WDF in 2021/22

We are delighted to tell you that the Workforce Development Fund (WDF) for 2021/22 is now open and we are ready to receive your claims for processing.

The WDF Funding Pack 2021/22 is being issued electronically to all Adult Health and Social Care providers in Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin and it is also available to download on the SPiC website.

In 2021/22 you can claim up to a maximum of £2,000 per learner

If you are new to claiming WDF, you will need to complete the WDF Member’s Declaration Form for 2021/22 and return it electronically to Amanda Berey at aberey@spic.co.uk .  The WDF Member’s Declaration Form is being emailed to you with the 2021/22 Funding Pack and it is available to download from the SPiC website.

To ensure that you are compliant to claim WDF please update your Adult Social Care Workforce Data Sets (ASC-WDS) from 1 April 2021.  If you have any problems logging on to your ASC-WDS accounts or with updating,  please contact the Skills for Care Support Team by email at ascwds-support@skillsforcare.org.uk or call them on 0113 241 0969
